Michael Neys

Hello there!

I'm Michael Neys, currently a Computer Science student at Hasselt University. Welcome to my personal website where I share my story.

My Story

When I was in high school, I developed a strong interest in computers. I tried to build my own PC, set up a small network with Pi-Hole as a DNS server and a file server at home.

I played along with virtualization using VMware to create virtual machines for testing different operating systems like Kali Linux and Ubuntu. On Kali Linux, I explored ethical hacking and network security, which further fueled my interest in cybersecurity. YouTube tutorials were my go-to resource for learning these skills.

Over time, I expanded my home network by adding more devices and implementing them in my own smart-home. This hands-on experience has been invaluable in shaping my understanding of computer systems and networks.

Currently, I'm pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Hasselt University, where I'm deepening my knowledge in various areas of technology. I'm passionate about computer networks, cybersecurity, data management, and exploring new technologies that can make a difference.
